Eppechal T. Smalls, Sr., Ed.D., a 1998 Graduate of Claflin College (University) is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in Higher Education & Philanthropy and currently serves as a Private Educational and Grants Consultant. Smalls received his Doctorate in Higher Educational Leadership from the Union Institute & University of Cincinnati in 2015. Smalls has served in two senior level position since 2010, Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Hiwassee College in Madisonville, TN and Vice President for Development at Wilberforce University in Wilberforce, OH. where he was successful in designing, planning, and leading the fundraising and marketing infrastructure. Smalls Currently serves on the Board for the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra in Newport, KY. and on the Kings-SAY Soccer Club Board. He has served terms on the Board for the African American Museum in Wilberforce OH, as Board Chair for Youth Haven Public Ecovillage formerly of Cincinnati, OH, and on the Awaken Pittsburgh Board in Pittsburgh, PA. Smalls lead a phase of transition as Interim President for the Union Institute & University International Alumni Association Executive Board. He is an active member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and is married to Dr. Lola Kelly Smalls a class of 2000 Alumna of Claflin University and has two daughters, Kellynn (11), Archer (5), and one son, Eppechal Jr. (8 months). The Smalls family resides in Maineville, OH a suburb of Cincinnati, OH. where Eppechal is a head coach for Kings-SAY 12U girls’ soccer and is a Certified 9v9 Grassroots Soccer Coach through the U.S. Soccer Association.
